FALL INTERNSHIP

We are currently accepting applications for our fall 2002 intern, who will work as a member of the Geotimes staff: writing for the News Notes section and other parts of the magazine as needed, writing weekly Web Extras for Geotimes.org, attending press briefings and science seminars in Washington, D.C., and helping to edit and produce the magazine for print and Web.

A stipend of $3,500 is supplied for the 12-week internship. Starting time is flexible. All applications should be postmarked by May 15, 2002. A background in the geosciences is a plus. Send a resume, letter describing what you hope to gain from the internship, and writing samples (no more than six) to:

Writing samples can include essays, newspaper or magazine articles, or samples from classroom work. We want to see that you have a flair for writing and that you can describe science well.

If you have specific questions, please contact Kristina Bartlett, managing editor.
