University of Maryland’s
Robert W. Ridky and the American Geological Institute’s (AGI) Christopher
M. Keane led teachers, professors and state geological survey scientists
up a cleft through pelitic schist of the Mather Gorge Formation (Late Proterozoic
to Early Cambrian) at Great Falls National Park, Maryland. The field trip
was part of AGI’s inaugural professional development leadership institute
for training teachers to use two new curriculum programs.
